Fires

<p>The aim of this research was to produce a texturally-oriented string orchestration that was to be recorded and married to an existing digital music score; this score was to accompany the ABC series ‘Fires’. The research asks how traditional and contemporary orchestrational techniques can be woven together to reflect a uniquely Australian perspective on the devastation wrought by natural disasters. The research is engaged with developing hybrid scoring techniques that enhance the dramatic narrative of a screen work.</p>
