These infographics summarise the key findings of our national survey of >4000 Australians from diverse backgrounds to understand their nature connection and how it relates to wellbeing and pro-environmental behaviours. We summarise the most connected categories of Australians, the barriers to connecting with nature, and the dimensions of nature connection. We find that people with the highest levels of nature connection are 64 times more likely to undertake pro-environmental behaviours than people with the lowest levels of connection. Similarly, people with the highest levels of nature connection are 4.3 times more likely to have the highest levels of life satisfaction (a measure of wellbeing) compared to people with the lowest levels of connection and that nature connectedness is 8 times more important for life satisfaction than socioeconomic status.
