This research project contributes to a key outcome of the MATSITI project to increase the number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander teachers. This qualitative research report identifies strategies for increasing the number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander teachers based on the views and insights of AEWs1in Tasmania on what would foster their engagement in teaching, as well as what would encourage Aboriginal student engagement in school.
