Its goal is to make an initial assessment of the ability of current systems to predict Antarctic sea ice on hemispheric and regional scales, with a focus on the summer season. We provide an initial assessment of model forecast capabilities that was scheduled for February 2018, in order to best prepare the ground for the prediction in 2019. This document reports the results from this first experiment.
