Oatlands Guard House

The project was initiated by Brad Williams, Heritage Manager of Southern Midlands Council, as part of a Professional Learning experience for in-service History teachers. The excavation took place from 20-25 January 2019 and was undertaken by five teachers and led by Dr Louise Zarmati of the University of Tasmania’s School of Education. The objective of the research was to contribute to the interpretation of the physical site of the former guard house in its wider context of Oatlands Military Precinct.
