Observations and effects of the January 2022 Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha’apai tsunami in Tasmania

The eruption of the Hunga Tonga–Hunga Ha’apai submarine volcano on the 15th of January 2022 initiated a tsunami that reached the Tasmanian coastline. The primary focus of this report is to collate and document the physical observations and instrumental records of wave heights, tsunami arrival times and human experiences of tsunami activity.
