Song Makers Program Evaluation 2015
This is the second annual evaluation report of the SongMakers program, an APRA AMCOS initiative that brings Australian contemporary music professionals into schools to share skills, knowledge and experience in song writing and producing.
In 2015, SongMakers provided opportunities for 785 high school students in 50 schools across Australia: 34% in regional, rural and remote areas and 66% in metropolitan and outer metropolitan regions. This year, 10 schools engaged in the program for the second time. The program again produced over 200 original songs in a year.
Participants’ feedback on the program continues to be overwhelmingly positive, particularly in terms of the “real world” skills and industry insights it affords both students and teachers.
