Support Needs of Allied Health Students on Rural Placement (FACT SHEET).
The Australian Collaborative Education Network has funded a University of Tasmania lead project titled “Allied Health Students Work Integrated Learning (WIL) during Rural Clinical Placement”. The project aimed to explore and develop formal resources that provide practical supports to guide positive and sustainable WIL for allied health students on rural clinical placement. The outcomes of this project include the development of sector-wide recommendations via the creation of fact sheets for university WIL managers and clinical educators.
These recommendations enable and promote strategies to support allied health students on rural placement, and include providing support in a flexible manner, being adaptive to each student, and being bespoke to rural practice.
