Many communities in inland Australia are ageing. Global forces are driving industry and restructuring outside metropolitan Australia. Skills shortages present an ongoing critis for rural community and rural industry sustanability. One of the ways rural communities can address these issues is to tap into the growing body of highly skilled workers who transit through regions and communities. Rural communities that make the most of the available pool of skills can increase community capacity, resilience, identification and uptake of opportunities such as new enterprises good practice in natural resource and more.
