As described in our strategic plan ‘Open to Talent’, the University of Tasmania aims to provide graduates with the skills required for participation in the national and international work, and is committed to extend the curriculum by providing real world experiences for our students. Work Integrated Learning (WIL) is one mechanism for students to attain such skills and improve their employability as graduates of the university. Our WIL policy (dated May 2011) includes provision for student placement in industry, but also for on-campus simulation of the workplace linked with authentic assessment.
