Aspects of the feeding biology of the large predatory starfish, Coscinasterias calamaria, were studies with an emphasis on three of its prey species, the scallops Pecten meriodionalis, Equichlamys bifrons and Mimachlamys asperrimus. Where possible, experimental observations were supplemented with field data.
