Petrology of the earth's deep crust and upper mantle and the origins of magmas in the earth and moon

The publications forming this thesis are grouped in three themes: 1.Petrology of the Earth's upper mantle, and of mantle-derived magmas and petrology of lunar magmas (publications in series A, B, C, D). 2.Petrology of the deep crust with emphasis on geothermometry and geobarometry as a means of investigating high pressure/high temperature metamorphism (publications in series E). 3.Roles of volatiles, particularly C-H-0 fluids, in deep crust and upper mantle (publications in series B, D).
