In this investigation a combination of physico-chemical techniques namely potentiometric, conductometric and spectrophotometric methods have been used to study several aspects of the chemistry of titanium(III) in aqueous solutions. The results obtained have provided new information about the hydrolysis of the hexaquotitanium(III) ion and complex formation in titanium(III) thiocyanate and sulphate solutions. It is shown that the hydrolysis of hexaquotitanium(III) ion in chloride solutions takes place in two stages.
